1st day

Well here I go. I've signed up and now i'm writing a story to complete strangers. I have no will power, energy, money, breath and feel generally crap all the time. The saving calculator told me i'd save $252 a week! Wow what am I doing wasting my life and money on smokes? Im a single mum struggling to pay bills but have just been told im wasting that much a week. What an idiot ! I live out of town so my drive to and from work is rewarded by smoking the whole way. Then I get home and have a beer and smoke more. I get to the end of the week and have no money! This story is for me to look back on and remind me how stupid I was being. I can do this. I have to do this otherwise life is going to be a constant struggle of health problems, depression, lack of money and my kids shouldn't miss out on things because their mum was too selfish to give up smoking! No more struggle street and being unhealthy!

Hi Jaide4...congrats on making a start on a new journey in your life.
Take 1 day at a time but keep focusing on your goal.
Good luck.

Great comments! Thank you so much. I've 24 hours now haha! I didn't even have one on the way to work this morning :-)

I used to always light up every single time I got in my car....even on a very short trip. And on longer trips I seemed to be constantly smoking. Now I wonder how I ever did that and for so many years! On day 53 and have just hit the $1000 mark of money not thrown away on filthy stinking harmful cigarettes. Champix got me on my way but I no longer take it. The first week was psychologically difficult, I found and still find, that it's the habit that is the hardest to break. One day at a time, then one week at a time, then before you know it, one month at a time :) It seems like yesterday that I started out on this journey, the time has flown and it will for you as well. Keep up the determination and come on here daily to get the support and motivation that I found enormously helpful, and still do!
