Traveling is a nightmare as a smoker

Posted in Getting started
schedule 14 Jan 2017

My husband and I visited NYC a few months ago and the traveling made me realize I never want to travel again as a smoker. So, far we are 3 days as non smokers! Yes, we have smoked a few cigarette butts but from a 1 1\2 pack a day smokers to this, I'm impressed with ourselves. We are using all the tried and true tricks this time I.e. gum, patches, e cigs, sunflower seeds, suckers and bubblegum. I've smoked for 33 years and tried to quit several times but always went back. This time it seems so much easier! Probably due to the stop smoking aids and this time I'm really ready to quit. Wish me luck or I should say us luck as my hubby is along for this journey. Angie

Angiie, I can relate, last year we where stuck in LA for 12 hours and to have smoke we had to go out the terminal, after the third time the securty guard questioned what we were up to, how embarrassing to say we are SMOKERS and need to go in and out. NYE for both of us so far and I just think of the cost. I'm a tight arse.

I had my last smoke at 5.30pm on Thursday 13th January 2017. I have found it very difficult thought I could go cold turkey but got some Nicabate gum. Does take the edge off a bit honestly didn't think that fags were so addictive as I have not tried to give up in a long time. This time I am going to succeed sick of feeling like a social Leper. Have come so close to caving in but managed to stay in control.

Thank you for responding to my post! I'm having a bit harder time today for some reason? Trying to stay stress free but my 4 year old grandson is here! I find myself wanting to go outside to smoke a cig butt. But I haven't yet! Hold on tightly my dear fellow "quitters" as this to shall pass. Thanks for all the support, and I will respond.
