Hi everyone! I am new to this online community! I have been smoke free for 18 days now. I am using step 1 patch combined with the nicotine inhaler.

I must say, this is one of the hardest things I have ever done. As the patch is controlling my nicotine addiction, my mind never stops. It will sneak up on me and say just one. Those are the moments that I struggle with the most. I also had anxiety before I started my quit, and it has increased quite a bit, but I have been working with my doctor through this quit!!! I am determined to do it!!!! Taking it day by day!!!! I keep telling myself one puff=one cigarette=one pack=smoking full time again!!!

Thanks WendyOhNo!!! I have my weak moments and then the anxiety ramps up and it is so hard to keep going!! So far I have somehow managed to keep pushing. I am going to read your stories!! Thanks again!

Hi Have faith. Look you will be ok each day will be better than the previous. However you need to make it to 90days that is the secret. From then on i honestly tell you, you will find it easier and easier. Up to that point i was pulling hair out of my head but then it grew again lol. Seriously, you must ask yourself why you want to quit whether for health reasons, affordability etc and you must think of that when urges strike because believe me...they will. I used a quarter of a nrt lozenge in early stages about8 quarters i.e. 2 full lozenges per day but now might have 2 quarters a day i.e. a half lozenge after 6mths. Try hard, be determined and ride out the initial storm.....things will get brighter. Cheers.

Thank you Johnnie. 90 days seems like so far away!!! But I am 20 days in so far so only 70 more to go!!!!

And WendyOhNo, you have had quite the journey. Proud of you to keep fighting when you were being pushed so hard!! I hope I can keep my fight as well!!!
