100th Attempt of quitting...here goes.

I have been a smoker since I was 16yrs old (20 years)

I have tried to quit more times than I can remember. The best method was falling pregnant with my twins. That attempt I stopped for a year. Second pregnancy was not so easy to quit. I have read Allen Carr's book 10 times, been hypnotised 4 times, tried all the nicotine replacement products and taken champix 3 times and currently on my 4th go with it.

There are a lot of side effects with Champix (that I experience) the worse is the depression. Or just feeling really really low.

I am only on day 9 and still smoking but really starting to dislike it and not want to smoke.

My twins turn six on saturday so that is my quit date.

I don't want them to turn into me. My parents smoked and it seemed normal for me to take it up. I don't want that for my girls.

Fingers crossed I can stick with it this time

Hi Clare, I read your story with much sympathy and urge you to keep trying. You are well aware of the benefits to both yourself and the children. Keep on this site and utilise the support of your fellow quitters. I pretended each day was a sporting completion and I had to get to the end of the day to win. Tomorrow was a new game and each win was a bit easier. I wish you well and will be cheering for you.
