Weekend...

Hi all,
Day 8 and checking in...
The weekend past was my first smoke free weekend and it was tough - really tough.
So many "triggers" at home on a weekend!!!
But I didn't give in to the intensely strong cravings and I didn't touch one - very proud of me :) I kept myself busy and sucked on chuppa-chups (lollies) every time the craving overcome me
Phew - glad that's over - now I fight again (with my mind) for another week
Cheers
Crasher

Well done Crasher, weekends are definitely hard, don't think in terms of weeks work in hours or days much more achievable keep up the amazing work

Great news. With every day that goes by it gets easier. Temptations may come sometimes, but they don't last long. I gave up for a week 2 months ago and when I had a cigarette I was craving, I felt so bad afterwards because really I wanted to give up. Anyway wishing you all the success.

Thanks guys :o)
You're right Saadkan - The very thought of having to go through these feelings and internal battles AGAIN makes having a ciggie just simply not worth it (all other things aside) - I simply cant let myself down!!!

All positive reading. I'm sure I'll do this after reading these posts. Well done all

Hey Crasher. Well done and keep going. One day at a time or even one hour at a time is what we can manage in the early stages. Although there are triggers behind every door there are just as many of us here to assist you through. Real deep breaths really helped when the cravings come on. It's easy to say but try really hard not to dwell on the cravings. They will only last minutes really if we tell our minds to change the subject. For me sweets did the trick at first ( toffee eclairs ) but after a while I didn't need them ( not everyone's advice ). I also drank small cups of really strong sweet coffee ( also not everyone's advice ) and eventually rarely drink it now. Good luck and keep posting
