Hi all,

I'm new here. I haven't yet taken the plunge but absolutely plan too. I'm not a huge smoker- about 5 a day, but over the past few months every time I light up I feel guilt knowing that this is really not the right thing to be doing. I have a young family and my sister once said that it was selfish of me to smoke...and I totally agree. My children need me. My partner is a smoker and I'm so nervous about if I'm going to be able to do this. What I would like to know is what to expect? Withdrawals yes...I know...but will I get to the stage that it won't worry me anymore and I'll be happily smoke free?

TIA

Hi Tia, You came to the right place... I've smoked for 18 years and I took Champix for 7 days then I decide that I will not take it anymore and I also stopped smoking that same day... basically cold turkey....

Everyone in my house smokes around me all the time, but I decided that I wanted to stop.

For me, the first 4 days was the worst in terms of physical cravings, but it gets easier each day. I am at day 20 and I still think I should be smoking in certain situations, only because that's all I knew......

You can also read this blog: http://www.iquit-smoking.com/nicotine-withdrawal-day-6.html and decide for yourself if and when you would like to... I draw inspiration from this site cause there are so many amazing people doing amazing things and encouraging everyone to keep on going and to stay strong.....

It's starts with you and when you decide it's time, take it one day at a time and let us know!!!

Goodluck
