Hi my name is mark and my quit journey starts today. Having alot of anxiety as im about to head of to work for a few days and need to not take smokes. I have many reasons to quit including my health and that of my family. I have just watched my father nearly die and have his leg amputated due to smoking. I turn 40 in a couple of days and i dont want my kids to have to go through with my dad. Life is full of stress that i keep using as an excuse for not stopping right now so just need to make it happen.

Anytime you feel stressed go outside take a few really good deep breaths and relax your jaw and your diaphragm, picture yourself sitting in the sun in a park with your family having a picnic and breathe deeply and relax

Hi Mark, I really feel for you, as I'm sure everyone on here does, my best advice for you is take each cigarette not smoked as a win also take each hour/day one at a time, it is too overwhelming if you try to look too far ahead. I used this site as my distraction and when the cravings hit, I came on here and read and answered posts, this got me through. Initially I found it very difficult as my husband and children all smoke. But I am over 80 days now and I smoked for over 50 years, so yes it is doable, but no it is not easy. But we are all here for you and each other, and together we will do it. Good luck and big hugs
