Hey every1, I am new to this forum and am have started taking Champix and am on day 6. I have felt a tiny tiny bit of nausea when i didn't eat with one of my tablets and around day 3 I got really moody lol. Didn't help that exams are on at the moment as well. I am starting to be repulsed at the smell of smoke and the taste is making it really hard for me to even finish a full smoke. So i think the tablets are really working. Now I am thinking of what to do with my time that I normally spent on smoking lol I just might start playing sport again. My stop date is next week but right now it's getting harder and harder to even want to smoke or stomach the smokes. I never really thought I could give up but I am hopefully going to do it. The amount of money you could save by stopping smoking is amazing. I've wanted to quit for a while but never took the first step or didnt know how to quit. I was also worried that I'd just start stressing at my husband and family and didn't want to put anyone through that lol but I've explained the side effects to everyone and so far so good. Does anyone know if you actually have to keep smoking until week 2 or is that just a recommendation?

Hi msrose :) I tried the Champix last time I tried to quit in 2012 - didn't work for me but then when I think about it I wasn't ready to quit.

That aside, congrats for quitting :) I'm on day 3 now and using patches this time round - doing well thus far - I'm ready this time.

As for you question: smoking on Champix until week 2 is just a suggestion - you can stop when you feel like you are ready (however, don't go over the 2 weeks)

Good luck

Hi Msrose, I used Champix and yes it is best to eat before the morning tablet (the nausea gets worse with full tablets) and not have the afternoon one after 5 or 6 pm (you will get really bad and vivid nightmares)

Good on you for quitting, believe you can do it and if you know deep down you really want too, then you will.

All the best :o0
