Day 2

I have tried several times to quit and have quit in the past for 2 years. I'm just over 24 hours and I'm feeling strong. I had set several quit days recently but that didn't work for me. Just made the thought of that time overwhelming. I just finished my last one and that is it. I feel like the preparation for me made it worse. mind over matter. Stay strong everyone.

I think if we can do 24hrs without a smoke we can do another 24hrs and so on, its like how do you eat an elephant ?? one bite at a time and this quitting smoking thing is like that.
if I look at the whole elephant I get overwhelmed and go too hard and smoke, so just for this 24 hrs I will not have a smoke that's all any of us can do.
I cant do tomorrow its not here all I can do is today.
well done on today and its always today so you will be fine.
IC

IC, you're so wise.
Leanne, he is right. Try not to think too far ahead. I dealt with an hour at a time for the first two days. Just getting through that was as much as I could do. Then you can get through half a day at a time and then a day and before you know you've not smoked for a week or a month or a year. Focus on now, today. You're feeling strong, keep that feeling within you and stay positive. Treat that nicotine devil like an impostor in your life adn send him on his way. Slam the door in his face and laugh at his silly antics. You can do this and you will. Keep posting, we are all here for you.
