Excited
I'm ready to try again. I'm excited to finally be a non smoker. In the past when I've quit I had trouble with feeling lost, empty, not knowing what to do. Any tips that help with this? Thanks in advance!

Roseanne is right. Staying busy in those first few days is massively important. Have lots of things planned, surrounded yourself with non smokers. Have some sugar free gum at the ready. Get that list of chores sorted. Clearing out cupboards, wardrobe or shed. Your house will gleam as will your soul. Keep posting on here, read others stories at points of weakness. Get rid of all cigs, lighters etc. from your home. Stay strong, remember why you're doing this. You can do this.

all very valid questions !!
when we stop if we know it or not depending on how long we have smoked for its like a death of a very close friend and all the feelings that go with that.
so grief is something we can look at and understand also at some point we have to morn the loss of a friend.
I spent like 2 weeks I was like catatonic just numb and that hollow loss feeling of a huge loss, I think we need to feel all the feelings.
the list can be long but anger, sadness and depression would be the main ones.
I believe if we do not feel the feelings from the loss we are still in denial about our smoking what it meant to us, what it stole from us.....
you get the picture this is a huge life changing event and it takes time to navigate through, and depending on other trauma we have experienced in our lives this will play out differently for us all, but it will play out !!
