Quit #3

Tomorrow I am quitting for the third time. And for good. I quit 4 years ago using hypnotherapy and then 9 months ago had a big slip up that lasted 6 months. I quit again using hypno but it didn't last long. Over the last 3 months I've been see-sawing between not smoking and caving in to the urge and smoking. I usually last 2 or 3 days without smoking and on those days I am so happy and feel so clean. I really want to feel that way always. I know how good it is to be totally smoke free and I so want to get back there. Tonight I am removing all lighters cigarettes and ashtrays from the house. I am not going to drink alcohol this week and I'm going to avoid smoking situations. I am going cold turkey and will also use my past hypnotherapy audio to assist. Wish me luck. I know it won't be easy but I am committed to this.

Good on you, Stella. Brilliant decision. I went cold turkey and have been smoke free for 5 days. Feeling very proud of myself. There are times I sort of go into auto pilot and want to go out into the garden (never smoked in the house), so during times like these I walk up to the greenhouse and have a good look round the garden. Then I go back inside and make a coffee or a green tea. You can do this, you've done it before and this website is brilliant for support. Everyone is so nice and they are all at different stages and different ways of stopping. There are some of us all the way from the UK and others from your native Australia. We are here to support each other. Stay focused on your goal, if you need to chat we are all here for you. I won't wish you good luck as I you don't need it, you will do this without luck.

you can do it :)

if we want to stop we can from what I have experienced but we must be willing to go through what ever it takes to do so.

yes it might be hard but there are people here who have done it so its doable it must be :)

we all wish you well and just go one craving at time.

Ahh what a relief to finally leave the awful habit behind again. At least you know it's quite easy once you've made up your mind. It's hard to start again-it takes effort, money and pain.

When I last started again, I had to stop at the deli and buy two cigars, purchase a lighter, wait till my neighbour went out in order to light up (because tobacco stinks), then light up and smoke my two cigars. Had to overcome gagging, nausea and a headache. But I managed to overcome this and become hooked again.

WTF?
