schedule 24 May 2016

Welcome Adam, I wish you all the best, today I am 70 days smoke free.

I also used Champix I have 2 days left on Champix's full 3 months course, I have been fortunate, the only real issue was interrupted sleep.

Make sure you set your start date, then stay focused, the medication helps but you will still need willpower.

We are addicts so there is no such thing as JUST ONE, take one day or hour at a time, and use whatever you need to get through.

My first 24 hours was the worst, but once I got passed that it certainly made a difference.

Good luck and keep posting

Hi Adam, the hardest part about quitting, I think, is actually making that decision. There is so much fear about how difficult it will be. Quitting smoking can be seen as a cakewalk compared to being an actively feeding smoker. Always you have to have nicotine supplies, even when you have no money, you find it somehow. The alternative is breathing easier, being more relaxed, having more cash in hand, more energy, being able to smell roses and taste raindrops.

Hi Adam,

Today is my 9th day on Champix and 2nd day smoke free. On Sunday 22nd May I decided that Monday was my quit day, taking the champix and smoking made me feel incredibly ill so at 10:15pm I got my packet and drowned them in water and chucked them in the bin.

The last 2 days have been tough, both my partner and I have stopped so we are a little grouchy, but I'm already coughing less!! So that's a good thing.

Best of luck to you.

Hey Adam, well done. Big decision, with massive positive impact. I would suggest also reading Allen Carr's Easy way to stop smoking. It's a different view, you can take your time reading it and if you get nothing from it then you've only lost the price of a book. I found it useful.

Excellent news though and welcome to the site

Good Luck Adam.

May I say that your mind will be better than the drugs.. they will help you.

It is your mindset that does the smokes undone.

My best wishes to you.
