No more self sabotage...

I have finally made the decision to quit smoking; this will be my third time in the last 10 years.
In the past I have been successful in quitting for many years, but like a loyal dog returning to its master, the habit rears its ugly head again.
I think it's important to identify the fact that people who successfully quit, but eventually return to smoking, are engaging in self sabotage.
We are all here because we want to move into a smoke free life, so why do we convince ourselves that we are able to have the odd cigarette here and there and keep the addiction in check? I believe it's important to look at the other factors surrounding our lives and ask ourselves if we truly value ourselves. We are all stronger than we realise, we can do this. We will feel better. Be proud of yourself for even making the decision to do this!
Good luck to you all :)

Elias welcome to your new life smoke free, personally I have found this site to be invaluable, keep posting it certainly helps me

A timely warning for me. Day 302 smokefree. If I was truly "cured" why do I need to revisit this site. As if I didn't already know. Once a smoker, always a smoker. Just never want to relive those first few days of giving up. Agony saying goodbye to a long time friend / foe... Have never been free from the addiction this long and plan to prolong the experience. Especially remembering the amazing conversations and support I have received on this site.
