Hi Cold turkey is hard, I needed to find a little something to lean on. They say a few attempts helps you find your triggers and build up your will power. Just tell yourself like a mantra I will do this.

Congratulations and I wish you well on your journey. You can do this - posts on this site have been invaluable to me.

I went cold turkey as well...60+ smokes a day to nothing and now its been nearly 19 weeks. Everyones journey is different my life is full of stress hence why I was smoking as much as I was the stress is still constantly with me, but through determination and being positive and very stubborn I am a winner but each day is a little better than the last but I do know there is a Demon (my Habit) is wanting me to fail.

Best of luck on your journey.

Way to go. Don't think about it. Life is so much simpler when it doesn't revolve around the thought of where & when the next cigarette will be smoked. So liberating...

schedule 24 Feb 2016

About to have another attempt. After smoking on and off for 50 years I know it is time to have yet another go. I've been off them for as long as 5 years, but seem to start again in times of huge stresses. I'll finish my supply and then it's time! Hopefully this time I'll succeed. I need to succeed. I will succeed.

Smoking doesn't make a stressful situation easier

Just deliberately smoked the last cigarette in my pack. Here I go. After 50 years of smoking on and off but mostly on I am ready to start a new life smoke free.

schedule 7 Apr 2016

Now on day two. The nicotine withdrawal is not too bad. It is the reward schedule that I set my self up for (Do this then have a smoke) that is really hard. On mind all the time.

ok, I cant believe I have made 14 days going cold turkey. Its the best thing I could of done as I was starting to have a cough. I joined the gym last week and that keeps me busy in the mornings and then off to work where there is no time to smoke. But any way its not even on my mind to smoke. My partner still smokes but that his choice and you know what? It doesn't bother me, I think its just clicked that I don't need to smoke anymore.

Best of Luck everyone :)
