Well its been 6 days on champix now and I am down to 3 cigies a day from 20 a day.... I always want a cigie but take a deep breath and question why??? Then the urge passes.... Then it comes back and again I am playing a mind game with myself!!!!! I hope I win...... The times I really want a cigie I know is out of habit, reward, to relax , driving, something to do, etc etc so that just about covers the whole day.. Lol lol...I now think twice about why I want a cigie as my quit day is coming up on day 10..... Ahhhh.... I have been trying to build up my will power for the last few days knowing that it is going to take all I've got in just 4 days..... I really want to be smoke free as they control your life... Constantly checking if I have enough cigies, what if I run out, better buy more just incase and bla bla bla... I am so over the constant focus about smokes.... I think champix has helped a heap a do recommend it!!!! I have had no side affects... Yet!!! The double dose starts in 2 days.... I really wish all of us good luck to break this habit that gets us through each day but we can get through each day ( sometimes for me i have to focus just on each hour) without them..... I hate that smokes cost more than my quick Dinna shop sometimes.....we can do this!!!!!!!! Step by step minute by minute then hour by hour then day to day soon week to week and so on... Thinking of all as each struggle is different but we all have the one goal.... Yea yea to all of us!!!!! Kazzi

Hi Kazzi, I did Champix and it helped a lot, but your cravings on day 6 are normal and you shouldn't stress about having '4 days left' before going over the cliff and becoming a non-smoker. The Champix will definitely help you but stick to your guns and keep ignoring the cravings as much as you can. Go for those walks around the block when it feels like it's getting too much. Believe me, not far off you will completely forget about smoking for weeks at a time. Just be careful when drinking on Champix - keep it very moderate if any at all. Best of luck - sounds like you're doing just fine!

Hi Kazzi, I agree with Jack, don't stress about your 4 days left. I too set a quit date and stopped a week early. I went to the shops to buy milk and fags, bought the milk and forgot the fags!!! Couldn't be bothered to go back for them. It was actually better that way as I didn't have to think about the final few days of smoking. It's a good feeling not to have to think "have I got enough fags left" "what if I run out". Keep yourself busy. I've taken to gardening, and I never used to like gardening!! If you have triggers at certain times of the day, change your routine. By the way I've had no side effects from Champix in 2 weeks :)
