Day 2 - My story

Im a 34 year old guy who has decided to kick the smoking habbit. I am currently at day 2 and still doing okay.
Ive smoked for 17 years. The first 10 years only 5 - 10 smokes a day due to playing sport at a high level, and the last 7 years about 20 smokes a day.
I have also fell into a bad alcohol habit turning into a binge drinker over the last 5 years. I'll drink upto 20+ cans of beer in one sitting. My smoking severely increases when im drinking which is about 3 times a week.
I used to be athletically fit and weight about 80 kgs. Im now nearly 100 kgs and starting to get quite frustrated at what my life has become.
I woke up yesterday morning after a big night on the beer and decided it was TIME TO CHANGE! I drowned the 10 ciggs I had left in my packet, and tipped out 2 beers I had in the fridge. The new me was born!
Ive quit the smokes in the past and found it relatively easy until 3 months in when ive fallen over. I don't generally put on weight when I quit and don't think this time will be any different due to my whole diet change.
Ive traded the smokes, beers and sugars for fruits, veggies, water and green tea. I know drastic diet changes don't generally do to well but I don't care, I need to do this. Ive got a family and 3 children.
Ive gone from a fit healthy semi professional sportsman, to a smoking, binge drinking overweight slob.
The smokes are my number 1 priority but this is a full makeover and its going to work. Ill keep you posted!

wow a tall order but you can do it. smoking and drinking goes together so hard to give up one or the other. Best wishes and enjoy the blog.
