Smoker

I still smoke. This site is supportive of people who have quit. I am still struggling. I am weaning myself from cigarettes. I have a daily battle. I think this sight was mean't to help any smoker. It seems people are hesitant to post unless they are sucessful. I don't feel accepted because I haven't made any radical changes. Over four months I have cut down from 20 a day to more like 8. That is a hugh achievement for me. I have medical reasons for being advised not to try to quit. Just keep my intake low and controlled. This takes me all my effort. Thankyou.

being on this site for the best part of close to 2 months and after reading your story I agree that your story is very rare.
BUT I have also seen people support people who have essentially failed at the task at hand which is to quit that stinkn demon.
Good on you for cutting down if that is what you want to do for what ever reason it may be. This whole smoking saga is REAL and very hard to conquer. Im sure you will find support here for the reasons you choose to stop or cut down..
Best of luck

Today I went to the cigarette counter in my supermarket. Today is 158 days smoke free. I wasn't actually buying cigarettes. I just wanted to know the price of a carton. $207.95. So I punched the air as victory is mine having saved well over $3000. I had smoked for over 45 years. I know how hard it is to make the break as do others on this site. You just have to decide why you should quit. Let's face it, some of us have taken a very long time... Hope you discover the reason you should stop now.

You are doing fine PenelopeJane and you give us all encouragement regularly. I could never cut down like you have - it was 25 a day or nothing. So I admire what you have achieved and wish you well and, as always, encourage you to keep on coming back to this site. Well done, you!

Smoking or non smoking that is the question. It goes to show that we are all unique and different in our lives, experiences, goals, hopes and dreams. This is not about anyone else but the choice you make for your life well done on cutting down achievement I say so! Stay connected your story and experience will help inspire others. We all have our struggles, slips and our own quit/reduce journey live your life the best you can.

I believe that if you are on this site- YOU DO BELONG HERE. I had to reboot my program early on, and believe me I know how stressful this is on the body!
I think you are very brave! Hang on, and make a little progress every day!
