Finally doing it this time

Posted in Getting started
schedule 16 Oct 2015

I have made it 5 days and i have to say it has been quite hard. I have tried in the past and always started back up smoking more. This time i am working through the cravings instead of giving in to them. I found day 3 and 4 to be rather hard as the cravings seemed to be constant. Today seems to be going a ittle better and i am starting to really know what my triggers are and distracting myself. Trying to think about the positives and don't want to undo the work i have already done to improve my health. I am so glad this site is available and it is nice to be able to draw from other ppls journeys and share experiences, it helps to know i am not alone.

Well done, it seems after time the cravings become less but at times can still be as strong as those first few days.. Finding something to distract you from the cravings will help and avoiding the situations that you associate smoking with. Good luck

I am a fast forgetter. I have had smoke-free days but have forgotten the reasons I quit. It must be nice to be a free and independant person.
