Not having cigarettes in the house After just 1 day off cigarettes I caved in,my anxiety which I thought was due to a tough emotional experience was actually nicotine craving.I wasn't able to see that before.I cant seem to separate the two.If I can just remember that the next tome I get a craving! Not throwing out my unfinished pack was due to my lack of commitment to quoting...argh,so cross with myself.I quit drinking 5 years ago and this is harder.Help!!

I to am starting my quit journey again. Prequit patch on. Small changes to the daily ritual of coffee & smoke.Cutting back on coffee.I didnt stay on patches long enough last time. Got to confidant & when the going got tough i caved. Hang in there. Im making a new ritual to be on this site daily now to keep me focused. We can do this.

Thanks😊 that's my plan too,I finally wrote my list of reasons for giving up.Gotta commit this time.Good luck to you too, let's do this thing!!

Hi Shasha, a few people have said that they have kept a packet of unopened cigarettes in their house, even though they have given up just so they did not feel that anxiety that you speak of. Some of those people are now 30 and 40 days into their quit and are still going strong. They still have the unopened packet. Everyone is different and if knowing there is unopened cigs in the house helps with the anxiety. It may help. This journey is tiny little steps initially aiming in15 mins then 30 mins then hours then half days and then days.be proud of each tiny step you take and achieve. X

Thanks, you are so right,we are all different 😊 I guess I knew I was kidding myself that I was ready but hopefully that slip will help my resolve.Great to have support here😊
