Just too much this time

I don't want to quit, I want to be a non smoker, full stop! Never even think about it again. 2nd day just passed, I'm doing it hard, exhausted by now but so determined this time. I've been using a puffer but will add a patch tomorrow because I'm sick and tired of thinking about a cig all day long. Decided to quit when paid $30.30 for a packet at 7eleven, calculated the cost in a year time and decided to go to Europe next year... God and everyone else help me!

Good on you for taking the plunge. I am only just over a week in and already I can tell myself 'I never want to go through this again' and that is some small motivation to keep on going. The cravings are sharp and relentless - a formidable foe. If you can, get as much sleep as you possibly can - at least that uses up some hours when you might be craving. I have also been visiting this website for moral support. All the very best with it.

Thank you and all the best to you on your journey ... it looks like only a quitter can really understand another quitter :-)
It will get easier. Just on 13 days of being smoke free. I started the no smoking off with the attitude of 'lets just see how far I get' but I'm already noticing the difference.
No shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing, I don't smell like a walking ash tray any more. These small things keep me in line. Plus you do notice the difference in your bank account.
Keep in mind your big thing (Europe) but also keep in mind the smaller things too.
Good luck and well done so far.

I hear you! I had the non smoker mentality and it's made a huge difference. I don't like the term 'Quit' as I am not a person to quit on things in life. I found week 2&3 the hardest but everyone is different, hang in there. Distract yourself with music, books, chewing gum, colouring in, knitting- anything that keeps your mind and/or hands busy..

Thank you, EVERYONE! I'm still here fighting my war. My family is more surprised than me. I have to admit the puffer makes it possible so I'm walking around with a small plastic pipe in my mouth... so far so good. Wishing you all a 100% success :-)
