Hiya, what assisted me greatly was exercising from day 1. Go for a 5k walk and then progress from there. i.e. incoperate some running into your walk. 4k walk 1k run. 3k walk 2k run. Yes it will take some time but it works, believe me. Set a goal like running your first 10k fun run in 6 or 9 months time. Good luck.

Hi Megz ensure you download a quit app on your phone today and as soon as you finish your last dart tonight load the info in your app. When you wake up in the morning you will have already done 8 hours. Next jump straight in the shower as soon as you wake. Eat breakfast and try to just keep getting through each hour and if that seems too long then the next 15 mins. Before you know it you have done a half a day. The quit line is good to to call or read some stories on this website through the day to help keep you motivated. Big day keep strong good luck x

Hi Megz, I smoked all my ciggies before going to bed and cleaned the ashtrays and threw out the lighters. M husband gave up 6 mnths ago so I was lucky that I didn't have access to any or put up with any 2nd hand smoke. I really didn't look at the "big picture" but just got thru the hour then till lunch etc. Did I crave 1 YES! did I get antsy YES! and cranky, teary oh I could go on. I am now a non smoker, I have saved $1500.00 dollars in 79 days of quit,I can smell again, things taste better, I don't smell like an ashtray,I am no longer standing outside on my own having a smoke it really is a freedom that I haven't felt of a very long time and I am so proud of myself. We will be here when you want us, it's not always easy but you have taken the 1st step and u can do it!!!!!!
