3 days for a 5th time

Hey guys,

I have achieved 3 days of no-smoking by now. But it is like for the 5th time. On the 4th or 5th day I have always smoked a cigarette during my previous atempts.

Do you have any tips how to handle it this time? I always smoke a cigarette because off the abstinency symptoms (being angry and sad) + when being with a friends and drinking alcohol.

Thanks for any of your tips. I am quite proud of myself that I have made it to 3 non-smoking days but still I don't know how to go on.

Hey it would be a shame to waste this 3 days. Just go one day at a time. Remember why you hate smoking and have a little (interior) smirk when you're drinking with friends. The hangover won't be so bad. After 50 years smoking I have made it to 23 days withe the help of Nicobate minis when I'm with smoking friends. Good luck

Hi Danie B, the first few days I broke the days into small attainable chunks like breakfast morning tea lunch etc and just kept ticking them off. I also kept checking my quit app saying to myself to get through the next hour. I found relaxing reading and listening to my fav groovy Kick Butt songs helpful to get through the cravings. I even danced to them and laughed. Try to make it Fun. Phone a friend or just keep checking this site. When I got through a craving I felt like I took one for the quit team here on this site. x

Hello Feather and Nannette, thanks very much for your comments and tips. I will try to broke the days into smaller chunks, that may help.

This website is really helpful, though, thanks to your reactions I feel like I am not alone in that fight and Im not surrounded only by my smoking friends I would feel inappropriete with them no smoking...
