It is now day 17 and I am winning the war... When I started I realized the craving needed a name...

Try giving your craving a name. If it is your craving you will cave in. If it has a name like "Margaret Thatcher" (a name suggested by another quitting smoker on this site) you can say an emphatic No! When the craving rears its ugly head... I have used this technique for the past 14 days and it has worked. A smoker for 46 years, I cannot believe i gave up cold turkey. I just wish I knew who was this fabulous person who suggested this idea. I sincerely thank whoever it was. I have read so many messages from individuals who struggle with their own craving. So much easier to say no to "someone else" as opposed to one's own cravings... Who in their right mind would deny themselves a craving... Try saying, No, to Margaret thatcher. You can try to think of someone else but it probably won't be as powerful as "Margaret" talking from the grave...
