Write stuff
Ok...its my last day of being a smoker. Tomorrow is my quit day!. Dad's birthday he would of been 85yo.
I have been up and down all day. Keeping busy and then boughts of oh sh..- panic, anxiety kicks in.
this is pre-stop smoking. I know I can do this, but why is my emotions running rampart? I'm going to keep a diary just so I can write stuff when i crave a smoke. i have the pen ready (my pretend smoke) and the paper handy. Stop me thinking of stuff and write ideas, feelings, stuff.
I hope this works. don't know if anyone has tried that one before.
Wish me Luck!

Wishing you luck!!! I don't think ANYONE has quit smoking without emotions running rampant. It's definitely what I'm afraid of most - uncontrollable emotions.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your pen-pretend-smoke strategy. I was considering cutting carrots and celery into cigarette shaped 'batons' but realise I won't always be organised enough to do this. Whereas a pen is always handy.
Thanks for the tip!!!

I do wish you good luck. I am quitting tomorrow. So, I know how you are feeling today, because tomorrow I will be in the same boat. But, hang in there. If you have to, use a tooth pick, for that hand to mouth thing. Drink lots of water too. Also, get on facebook, and get friends support, there you can vent too. By all means write it down, good for a reference. Eat snacks, and most of all, treat yourself. Talk tomorrow. good luck. trish.
