I need to do it

I have been smoking for 19yrs. I plan on quitting on Tuesday. I have had a couple of attempts at quitting but this time i really want to do it. I am 35yrs old and unable to have kids so if i quit it increases my chances plus i will have money to do other things. I am using Champix and found that i am slighlty nauseous but can handle it. I think Stress, driving and hanging out with friends who all smoke will be my hardest times. I really hope i can do it this time.

Good on you Suzanneee. I quit just over 6 weeks ago. I'm also taking Champix although I had to go back to the drs because the nausea was really bad. I found keeping myself busy really helped. I decorated so many cakes the first couple of weeks my kitchen looked like a cake shop. I also kept away from people who smoked because I didn't want to go back smoking. My dr also told me I could use nicotine replacement eg Nicolette chewies etc. I figur I smoked for 40 years I need all the help I can get. I wish you all the best. I think the best incentive would be holding your child in your arms. Good luck.

Thank you Bridie. Any suggestions on helping with the nausea? Well done for being smoke free for over 6 weeks. Congratulations.

Looks like we picked the same quit date. I quit on Tuesday also. I am having a very hard time sleeping and keep waking up every hour, feel depressed and tired. I am on the patch. How is it going for you?

Hi Zeke. Good on you for setting the date and wanting to quit. Unfortunately the patches didnt work for me so i am on Champix. I have heard from friends that you need to take the patch off while you sleep. Keep going, just remember it is worth it in the end. I a, still craving and struggling heaps.
