Can't set quit date

My journey so far on Champix . I am on day 16 apart from little nausea and lots of dreams which arent to bad just constant. Find if i take second tablet at 4pm in arve with food dreams arents so full on. Second week went on holiday and hardly smoked probably 3 a day compare to twenty a day. Should have set quit date then and there would have been easier. Return home back to cigs with triggers coffee, food, wine, worst is having a few wines can still chain smoke. Felt so quilty. But othertimes i think its just have to do it at certain times because thats what i used to do i dont know even though i dont get a kick out of it. Just drifting along is it because i'm too scared to set that date. How long is to long to quit on champix .Feel like im not getting there when i read other people quit on day 8 etc. Anyone else the same.
Hi dramaqueen,
First up congratulations on your journey to giving up.
I am 53, have been smoking for 35 years and am on the same journey as you with the champix and am half way through the past packet.
I felt the same as you early on and was still smoking (but much less) over one month in but then I found after half a smoke I felt nauseous and had to put it out.
I soon found myself not wanting a smoke because it making me feel a bit sick and not pleasurable anymore.
Then one day 7 weeks after start, I stopped altogether :-) but still kept one smoke in the house for security purposes in case I went nuts...lol
It's been 25 days now without a smoke and I still get cravings but find myself saying to myself, I will go wash the dishes and if the craving is still there I will have it, but always end up forgetting about it once the craving passes.
I worry a lot if I will be able to keep up not smoking when the Champix runs out in a few weeks.
So don't feel bad you haven't stopped yet, you can only do what feels right for you and everyone's different.
Being a little in front of you starting I hope my thoughts help.
Cheers
Sharon

I stopped on day !3 with Champix but to be honest I could have kept smoking out of habit, just try 1 day not having any and see how it goes

Keep it up been on Champix 3 weeks and much the same just having 1or2 smokes a day ATM , usually if I have a beer or kids driving me mad
Good thing is that I don't really want to smoke so hoping the habitual side goes away soon
