Hiya Diane am on day 6 of champix and I have cut down to about the same as you, today nowever, I had a smoke and felt immediately sick and have had a burning pain in my head all afternoon, I've been very snappy and irritable but having given up smoking before think its really just all about giving up smoking and not the champix maybe its because of all the side effects you read about so not reading anymore about them! I am supposed to be giving up on day 10 but think it might be before that as hate feeling nausea! Good luck will follow your posts! x

thanks i sure hope so im doing pretty good except for the mood im in and i hate being cranky

Hi Diane, I have just started using champix. I have also stopped taking lexapro. On day 2 I'm not sure if it was a flu or a side effect but every single bone in my body hurt so bad I had to take panadiene forte just for some minor relief. I am feeling the effects of not taking the lexapro as I am getting the weird jolting in my brain! The mood swings really worry me please keep me updated on your experience with champix

Hi Cyndy I survived yesterday it was hard I have cut back from 20 cigs a day but yesterday with all my mood swings I managed to only smoke 3 that is great for me especially on a day like yesterday today will be my first day back to work and I work with public so I pray it will go easier,so far this morning I only had a couple puffs not making me sick or anything just don't want it I don't feel cranky yet,lol maybe you should speak to your dr about the pills you stopped taking I know champix can do a few weird things to people try taking half a pill or speak to your pharmacy maybe they can suggest something good luck keep me informed

Hi Diane,
I haven't tried champix. But I find when I am low on nicotine I am really emotional.
I have tried to quit seriously about 10 times I think, not sure really. But each time it does get easier honestly. I have tried pretty much every method too. I am on day 3 now cold turkey and feel okay physically, it's just the mental we have to keep in check. I find cold turkey the best to get off the cigarettes, it's just hard long term. so I'm trying a Hypnotherapist in a few days to help with my emotions hopefully and maybe even acupuncture with the money I've saved. They are pretty much the only 2 things left to try. Have you tried exercising more? That has helped me also with the cranky and sadness. I believe the moods will pass, you just have to hang in there and remind yourself constantly why your doing it and don't let your mind trick you into one again. I hope this has helped a little and I wish you all the best. Stay strong :) Sharon

Just wondering, on the Champix what day have you quit after starting. I planned to quit today (Day 7 on Champix) However I still have a couple left in my deck and have smoked 1 so far today. What should I do, should I just let the Champix work, or should I just give up...I don't feel like one now...Not sure what to do? Feel a bit lost actually

I have continued to smoke for the first 9 days and now I just don't want it having a few puffs while on champix for firt week is ok but try to cut out smoking all together on the second week I had a horrible day few days ago but the past 2 days I have started to feel better just keep telling your self why you want to quit keep your mind and body busy I actually went for a jog yesterday first time since I was in high school didn't run far but it was noticed that I could go father than I could 2 weeks ago.Dont give up stay stong Im here anytime you need to vent ViannaM and thanks to all the rest your support and kind words mean a lot to me keep up the good work guys/gals Im going to try the same..fingers crossed for everyone
