Quit date set

Posted in Getting started
schedule 16 Oct 2014

Well, finally set my quit date for this Monday, I have tried to quit so many times and been unsuccessful, I look at my cigarettes and I am so disappointed in myself that I rely on something that will eventually end my life. This time I need to quit, found a lump in my throat this morning and it really made me realise that the smokes have to go, now to the doctors to check out what the lump is.......... if anyone has any ideas on quiting that will help me I would really appreciate it.

I have found it really motivational to keep looking at my quit smoking easy app when I feel like a cigarette and felt better from drinking heaps of water. good luck

Like yourself I have tried to quit more times that I can remember, each time before have always given in. This time I am on patches also using an inhaler and chewing gum, which are helping. Also using the "quit buddy" app which is a good back up. Be strong, there never is a right time to do this, I know as I have always chosen dates then chickened out. Hope all goes well at the docs. Good luck, and remember you are not on your own.

My set date for non smoking is 20th after starting champix, and there have been many attempts over the years to stop. I know that willpower will have to be a big player in this. I have gum and lollipops to help with my hand and mouth habit, drinking lots of water, check in here daily, downloaded antismoking signs and positive sayings and printed them out and they are now scattered around my home, ordered the I can quit info and now will add the quit buddy app that Nannette and Zulu have mentioned. I will use whatever I need and find to support my goal in being a non smoker. We all can do this!
