Today is my last day as a smoker. I have surgery today to remove a tumour off my vocal cords.I am hopeful it is benign but it has scared me enough to give up. Patches and gum will become my new friend for the coming weeks along with willpower. I can do this for my health, my children and my bank account. I CAN DO THIS.

You can do this. I hope the surgery is a success. Enjoy the feeling of not being a slave to the cig anymore. Enjoy the moments you hug your loved ones and know you don't smell like an ashtray. Good luck. I'm on patches and on day 50. They do help.

I am happy to report that my tumour was not cancer, but have taken it as a warning. Still not smoking and now on Day 52. still want one most of the time but have not given in.
