I'm trying

I am a mother of 5 I recently got approved to rent a house large enough for all of us which is great as we were previously in a 3 bedroom. As a result our rent is much higher and I can no longer afford to smoke. I have smoked 10-15 smokes a day since I was 14. I plan to quit entirely with the help of patches and nicotine mints.

Good luck and congrats on making this decision. Try and get in the right headspace. It's so exciting to not have to smoke, to be in control of your life again and to be able to hug those 5 beautiful children and not smell like a dirty ashtray. I am on day 27 without a smoke. I'm using patches, but honestly, I think I would have succeeded with any method as I just feel good about it this time. I have a 6 month old and it's so nice not to pass on second hand poison to him. Also knowing that I'm going to be healthier so I can be around for a long time to see him grow up. Stay strong and read the stories on this website. Some of them are inspiring and offer some great tips.

Well done on your first step on being smoke free. By quitting you will be amazed the amount of money you will save! I also use the lozanges and they help when the cravings sneak up on me. Keep busy, which I'm sure you do with your 5 children, and when you need a break from your hectic life look for something else to do rather than having a smoke - go for a walk, read a book, make a cake - whatever you wish as long as it's not a smoke!! Keep it up
