champix

Hi all . So today is my third day on Champix and I must say I haven't had any major side effects. I was totally freaking out about side effects as I'd read some horrid stories and reviews etc... However, much to my surprise, I've had none except awesome dreams so far. I have no mood swings, no nausea, nothing really except mild sweating at times but my mood is fine. I'm actually feeling happier (weird) . I'm only at the start of this journey and it hasn't stopped me from smoking but I smoke less for sure and I have that funny taste for a good 6 - 8 hrs after taking champix. I start taking two tabs as of tomorrow and really look forward to the full dosage to begin from week 2. I've been a smoker for about 16 yrs. Probably about 10 - 14 cigs a day but I've decided to quit because I don't want a health concern to be the reason I actually do something about it. And smoking has become so expensive, so I pray to the universe with the help of champix I can give smoking a kick in the butt lol
:) hope you're all doing well and plz feel free to drop me a line or if you are just starting and have questions or concerns, I've just started but thought it'd be a good idea to share what's happening with my experience since we are all different. And I certainly have had no bad side effects so far!!

Hi Congratulations on taking the plunge. I am now 140 days smoke free and this is week 2 without Champix. I didn't have any nasty side effects from Champix although those around me said I was irritable. Dreams were awesome it was like one big reunion with all the people I have met in my life!! I was waking up exhausted cause I was partying all night. The second tablet can really change the taste of anything you put in your mouth. I couldn't stand the smell of me post cigarette with champix.Food tastes can change. I found I wanted simple foods but tasty and I still feel like that. I have a tic tac instead of a cigarette and I never thought that would work.I chose to extend the course and that option of a further 12 weeks is available.I have /had been smoking for 40plus years and it is still tough because so much of my life revolved around smoking but I am determined. It is a nasty drug and the only winners are the tobacco companies.Enuf Stick with it you are bigger than the cigarette
Cheers Vicki

Congratulations to you Vicki :) well done... hope I can say the same sometime soon ... I really look forward to being smoke free.
I start the two tabs tomorrow and begin normal dosage next week. Yes totally agree on the dreams lol they are awesome, to say the least - I actually look forward to sleeping because of it lol =p
Thank you heaps for the encouragement and feedback. Well done once again, I hope to be smoke free sooner than later.

Congratulations to you both. I am now at 410 days smoke free after somking a pack a day for over 25 years. I didn't have any side effects from champix but a few of my friends did. I guessed it affects different people in different ways. I wish you both the best with ridding yourselves of this disgusting habbit. My next victory will be getting my wife to quit. Wish me luck with that one.

Hi Kev :) wow! Congratulations to you. That is definitely a major win to be proud of . I bet your lungs love you so much more now ;)
I'm oon day 6, still fine and no bad side effects, not totally smoke free but I must say cut back a lot... I at times go through the whole day without one.. night time is a pain at times. I'm hoping by the end of next week I can hopefully give cigs the total Diss. How long did it take you to stop smoking with champix?
Bow, all the best with your wife, I'm sure with your support and champix she'll nail it too! :)
