I have been smoking since I was 13.. Everyone in my family smoked. When I was 23 I found out I was pregnant with my daughter.. I quit smoking that very day and didn't smoke again for five years.. Then one night at a party, I lit up a cigarette.. And fell back into being a pack a day smoker.. The second time I quit, I tried champix.. They worked. I quit for 6 months.. Went out to a party, lit up again and here I am.. This is my 3rd real attempt.. I've started champix 4 days ago. Feeling foggy, tired and unmotivated but hoping that this is an adjustment period.. Still smoking but have set my quit day for the 20th of this month (my daughter's 11th birthday) I know I'll make it this time, I'm not much of a drinker these days and that's what seems to be a bit of a trigger for me.. Anyway, I know I'll quit, reading everyone's stories on here helps! I know I'm not alone.. Best of luck to everyone on the road to a healthy body and bank balance! :) we can do this!

schedule 22 Sep 2014

Hi Jezzy yes my weakness is when I have a drink so for the last 3 weeks I have been avoiding the alcohol and coffee. I am going on holiday soon so I have to be extra strong!! Thankfully the people I'm going with don't smoke but I know if I have a drink I'll be looking for a smoke! I'll be stocked up on lozanges and gum or maybe I'll just say no to the booze too . keep up the great work

Hi BernieGee

So far so good! I've managed to stay smoke free for three days.. Though I feel like I've lost my best friend! Lol.. Not as moody now and other side effects/nicotine withdrawals are starting to dissipate.. It's getting easier :)

Seems as though you've got a good plan for your holiday! Being around non smokers helps too.. I'm staying away from booze until I'm a bit more confident that I won't smoke again! Lol.. Best of luck and enjoy your holiday! :)
