Over it!

schedule 2 Jul 2014

Hello, well today i went to the Dr and got champix, i have taken my 1st tablet tonight after dinner.I have tried patches for a month and a half and went good for about 2 weeks, then i found i was taking them off so i could have 1 more smoke or i was hiding away and sneaking 1 in here and there when no one was around. I would feel terrible when i did this and lied to people and told them i wasn't smoking still.... so now fingers crossed that these champix will work for me and i won't get sick from them. I tried zyban years ago and they worked well with no side effects, i quit for about 5 months but then started again due to strees at the time. I have been smoking since i was 14 and am now 41 and only really stopped each time i was pregnant (2 times) and here and there for a few months but they always found their way back to my mouth.... well im over it and im sick of them ruling my life and harming my health!!!!! Good luck to you all!

A friend of mine kindly said to me "Never quit quitting".

You could get a harmonica to have some thing to do with your mouth. I am getting one. My playing won't be as destructive as smoking and it won't take up much space in my handbag. It might help my asthma. I can muck around with it in my Husbands smoking area.

Are there some things you did while you were pregnant that you would like to do again? Like walking to the park to get a stretch and some fresh air? Or going to the library for some books?

I am also going to take up origami to give myself something to do with my morning coffee. I did a drawing the other day. That is something I have been promising myself. I would like to draw each day. It is not a costly pastime. I always have a soft pencil in the house and keep a good sharpener. I quite like layout paper. I will change pad sizes. I have adjusted to A4. Next I'll get the biggest pad I can to extend my comfort zone.

I have a rose garden now that I smoke less. I dead-headed my roses today. I am growing vegetables. The next sundry item will be potting mix. I have some radish seeds to grow for my Mum. Then with the following lot of smokes money, I will be buying chocolate moulds. I will make some ginger chocolates for Mum to give to Dad in his nursing home. I am able to be more creative with my life when I am doing other things. It is empowering.

All the best.
