I made the decision to cut down, and eventually quit on June 22nd.I was a 25 a day smoker.Since June 22nd,I have had 9 cigs, which is a vast improvement.I set my quit date as today,July 1st.But I have had a cigarette today!!!I am on patches and gum.I also have some cigarettes still in the house, the problem is,I'm terrified of throwing them out.!!!Does that make any sense?

Yes it makes sense. Problem is, if the cigarettes are in the house, it makes it easier to smoke them! I'm going through exactly the same thing. Throw them out! If you feel like smoking, chances are by the time you have gone to the shop to buy, the craving has passed. Don't give up just because you had one cigarette. Just carry on from here. You can do it! Take it hour by hour if you have to.

Hi can anyone please tell me IF I need to complete the 3 months. I'm on the 2nd month feeling great but bloated, retaining water. I know myself I won't start smoking again! Any advice great and to those just starting its the best thing you will ever do for yourselves. Stick with it it is worth it!

You deserve a big reward for your action. Do something really nice for yourself. I would encourage it. Bravo!!!
