Hi Lisa , I started my champix 14 days ago and so far have been smoke free for 5 days. Also 45 years old . Havent told any of my family that I have given up as in previous attempts, felt they were disappointed in me when I failed . This time I am doing it for me

Lisa, congrats on making the decision to quit! Good on you! Champix will definitely help, I am on day 36 smoke free after 35 years, I am using champix as well. It can be a bit tricky, be sure to take it with meals and drink loads of water. Let us know how you are making out and we can share our experiences to help you along. Get excited about what you are doing, because you will soon feel like a new person - honestly, it is wonderful! All the best to you!

Day 36 smoke free and day 56 on champix, still having the most amazing vivid dreams. Some just stupid and others really disturbing and so real, they stay with me when I wake up. I hate them but I believe it's a small price to pay for being a non smoker. They will go eventually and I will still be a non smoker! So... see them for what they are......just stupid dreams.

Determination is more reliable than luck. I wish you luck too, but seeing opportunities is something that people develope with recovery. I'm sure your luck will improve as you gain more control over your behaviour and your thoughts. People in recovery are usually grateful and sometimes quite humble from where they have come from. I am sure quitting is worth the effort. However, don't forget to do lots of nice things for yourself. I want you to give yourself lots of rewards.

Hey Lisa, try taking the second pill of the day with your dinner, so several hours before bedtime, this really helped me a lot. Still dream but they are not scary and don't disturb my sleep. Taking the pills with food also helps keep the nausea away. All the best to you, keep us posted!
