I've used Champix before and really disliked the side effects, so I stopped and went back to smoking. Now I want to try again. I plan to only use 1/2 a doseage. Has anyone had any experience with using 1/2 a doseage?

I am using champix, 38 days smoke free now and I did make some alterations to make it more manageable. First I took the pills with meals, that helped a lot with nausea. It also helped taking the second pill with dinner because it was several hours before bedtime and then the medication didn't seem to bother my sleep so much. I stayed with the two pills a day until I had been smoke free for two weeks, then I decided to go to one pill a day, that was three weeks ago and I'm still doing fine and feeling much better. You are right about size, I only weigh 110 lbs, so how can someone twice my weight be on the same dosage? If I were you I would start out with the prescribed dose and stay with it as long as you can, it really does help! All the best to you on your journey!

355 days smoke free thanx to Champix - I had a load of the side effects but it did ease off by the 2nd month. I stayed the full 3 months with the exception that I used the last weeks tabs for 2 weeks to wean myself off Champix.

Start out with the 1/2 dosage and see how it works for you - if it doesn't up the dosage to the prescribed mg's and try and handle the side effects. I really, really wanted to stop smoking and in retrospect I would take the side effects again just to be quit smoking. Its been 1 of the best decisions of my life.

Good luck and do what works for you.

I agree with Kam, I weigh 132 pounds, so how can I have the same dosage as a larger male..? I'm lucky that my doctor gave me 0.5 mg tablets instead of 1 mg. ( Mix, congratulations to you..!!)
