Getting started

Hi everyone,
I am 32 years old and have been a steady 15-20 per day smoker since I was 13 years old. In 2009 I quit smoking, cold turkey, for 3 months shy of 4 years. In January 2013 my husband passed away and I grabbed a smoke just outside the hospital, and very quickly was back to smoking the same amount I did before I quit. It's scary how quickly you fall back into the old habit.
My husband's support was the biggest thing that helped me be successful while quitting cold turkey, I have tried a few times since his passing but I don't have the same motivation I had before. I really want to quit though so I figured I would get a little help.
I got a perscription for Champix and began taking it last Friday, I am already noticing that smoking is not as appealing and I am smoking less without even thinking about it. I have set my quit date for May 1st. I am looking forward to kicking this habit for good.

Very sorry about what has happened to you,
your words are an outer inspiration :)
you have done it before and you can do it again,
This is my first week off them in twenty years, I had a little lapse on wednesday, but Im back on the wagon and have never ever felt better
hang in there, you can do it
