bucket list

schedule 17 Feb 2014

since I was 19, I always vowed I'd quit before I was 25. at least, then, I could still be the rebellious young artiste until it was really time for me to "grow up". well, I'm 5 months off the big day, and I kind of can't believe I havent quit yet. my partner of one year hates it, I've moved back in with my dad whose father died of smoking - I never met him.

I recently went into hospital for 5 days and I was not allowed to smoke, they put me on patches, lozenges, inhalers and gum! it was actually very, very easy. I barely even thought about it, and the withdrawals were almost nothing. they did me put on enough nicotine for the heaviest smoker in the world, whereas I only have 10 a day max, but still, within a few days I felt so, so much better. I could breathe again, breathing in a way I had completely forgotten was possible.

I have to quit before I'm 25 - for my partner, for my dad and the grandfather I never knew, and for myself most importantly. and that's before - not on the day. I'll give anything a go at this point.
