I Have been smoking now for around 23 years, i currently get chest pain although i do work in a jobwith lots of labour.I am a binge smoker, so i wont have any for 2-3 days and then as usual i go have a few beers maybe 4-8 after work at a mates and will smoke around 15 smokes and when i go to the shed on weekends i often go through 1.5 to 2 packs in one night.I am also a binge drinker which is tied in with the smoking or vice versa. For me to give up smoking i need to give up drinking until i can have a beer without a smoke, this makes it harder as i love a beer.currently my chest pain is scaring me and i just do not wont to smoke ever again.

I understand what you are going through & the complexity of quitting. I made the decision to finally quit after a lot of thought & planning & quit just after Christmas. I have put myself into a semi state of recluse and avoiding all my mates/neighbors that smoke (after telling them of my quest) only drinking on special occasions such as NYE, Australia Day etc & making sure there is something to nibble on while having a drink. If you can go 2 or 3 days smokefree you are halfway there, get some help fom your GP & get him to give you a good checkup

Good Luck
