Day 5 of champix

So I went to the doctor the other day for a check up related to my high grade cervical cell diagnosis. When I was asked if I smoked, and I said yes the guilt was overwhelming. I asked for champix on the spot. I have to stop! I hate being caught in this trap.So far I'm down to 2 a day. Tonight's one I didn't even want and put it out after half. My quit date is day 12. My mouth already tastes terrible and I had to drink a big glass of water to get rid of the cigarette taste. I think it's more habitual at the moment. I'm really excited about quitting. I have locked in a fitness plan to help motivate me, and of course support here will help. Best of luck everyone. Your stories are inspiring!

Awwww don't be too hard on yourself, we all feel guilty I know but we can't change our past habits so there is no point harming ourselves anymore. I think everyone has vices, alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, food but I guess the problem is in recent years we are all now very aware of the consequences of being a smoker but its hard to believe it will catch up to us all in the end...You can do it won't take long and you will be down none, All the best :)

Good luck Lucky3,
Yeap there is nothing positive in smoking-- at all... and so many positives from not smoking. we all know the benefits from not smoking and the risks with smoking, But non the less its a hard tough road to recovery. Its time now to be nice to yourself, kind to your body. Like most of us we've smoked for the majority of our lives and now is the time to reward our abused bodies with kindness and health.. Good luck and stay strong.. You can do this

You are right, we are all here to support each other and it really helps. Well done on making that first step and all the best!
Keep posting!!!

Day 7 on champix for me and my stop date is this Friday. I have not had huge cravings but feel the habit more, feels strange not to have a ciggy in lots of everyday tasks.I was a 20 to 30 a day I am down to 2 took only a week.I have smoked for 40 years and never really tried to give it up. It is helpful to read others stories. Good luck everyone we can do it :-)
