Live better for longer
Hi everyone i stopped smoking last night this morning it took a lot of will power not to just light up like usual i talked myself out of it thinking how i was only going to cough my guts up i have been smoking many many years and have tried to stop with varied degrees of success i think if i dont its really gonna kill me, just like all those horrible adds on TV. Its dawining on me the warnings are for real and i would be a fool not to try and do myself a real big favour, for the obouis reason to live better for longer.

yeah those those ads on the television are for real don't try just do it. stop now i was a heavy smoker i gave myself emphysema after years of abuse i stopped cold turkey so if i can stop anyone can i will always have emphysema but at least i can manage that, you should stop smoking sooner than later, well all the best.

Hi fresh and clean, I am only 9 days into not smoking so only a spring chicken to many others on here I opted for the 24hr patches and they have worked for me I stopped wearing them to bed after day 5 and am having no problems with cravings in the mornings. The cough has practically gone so that's good to look forward to and I can breath in and blow out a full set of lungs now and not cough at all which I could not have done 9 days ago. So whatever it takes you to stop do it it's worth it. All the best

Hi, well done on deciding to quit smoking. It is very doable , and I mean that , there is some hard days... with cravings. They last for few minutes and then it is over. Distract yourself in those times, clean,go for a walk, drink a glass of water, come on here, read posts or share your experience. Whatever works for you just do not reach for a smoke. Take it easy and you will be fine. I am 5 months smoke free.... I thought I would never do it seriously. You can. If you do not succeed try again, do not give up on giving up. It is so worth it, I feel so much better, breathing is easier. I enjoy exercising it is not as difficult it is a joy now. Skin appearance has improved dramatically, along with hair and nails. Focus on today and what you can do. I wish you good luck, keep posting and look forward to hearing your journey.

If you need help, go see your doctor and ask for Zyban. I think it's helping me, I've never tried to quit before therefore I do not know if its the zyban that's helping me or not but the cravings are all but gone and its week three, without a smoke :)
