my last smoke

i had my last smoke yesterday and now i am ready to stop i hope any way my partner is over me smoking but he is one of my triggers to and he doesnt understand when i get mad at him i would perfer to sit outside and have a smoke or when i am waiting for him to get home i fell like smoking all the time i wish it was as easy as he thinks it is but it not so here i go giving it a real go this time so i will see how i go

Hi Apricots, Has your partner every smoked before? If he hasn't it will be very hard for him to put himself in your shoes. He obviously dislikes smoking, maybe use that as an incentive to not have one, use anything. I have been smoke free for 11 days and my partner smokes but he does cut down around me and supports me, but yes it is hard when they can be the trigger. I am going cold turkey this is the second attempt that way and it seems to be the best for me. All the other attempts have been with the aid of Nicotine Replacement Therapy. This time is it for me!! Just keep focusing how you will smell better, have more money and feel strong for not giving into those filthy smelly cigarettes. Good luck keep posting, you CAN do it, and do it for you!!

apricots, talk to your doctor about wanting to quit smoking there are alot of different methods to quit you don't have to go cold turkey well all the best and good luck.

Hi, my husband was a heavy smoker 3 years ago and has nagged me ever since he quit, he kept telling me it was easy, it may have been for him but I've tried many times to give up. This time I am making it cold turkey but its all the support on here that's keeping me going and I feel it's not as hard as I thought once you put your mind to it, I found the first week the worst the hardest, so stay strong.

I'm using the patches and so far so good. I find having an incentive and using that as a focus is really helpful. I wanted to get fitter and have started running - something I wouldn't be ably to if still on the smokes. My partner didn't exactly nag me about giving up but didn't like me smoking (ex-smokers are the worst!) but I had to do it for me, not someone else. But if you used to go out and have a puff after a row maybe one of those electric ciggies will help so you can still go through the motions without the poison? Good luck anyways
