Another attempt

I've been a smoker for 25 years. I've lost count of the amount of times I've tried to give up smoking either through cold turkey or NRT. The longest I've gone is 6 months after using patches - got drunk at a party - was just me and my niece left by the pool - she offered me a cigarette and I took it. What a fool! Luckily it's now almost impossible to smoke in social situations and now almost none of my friends smoke. I want to get fit but can't do that if I pant running 5 metres for the bus and I'm getting sick of being nagged at! Smoking just isn't enjoyable anymore. So quitting is this years birthday present to myself. I had my last ciggy at 3pm - had a shower and slapped on a patch. My partner gave up smoking years ago - we both did - but I started again. Should be easier sharing my journey with others!

Well done for having another crack at it A+E Guy. This site is great for helping keep you on track and everyone is so helpful. Keep posting and reading the stories. Good luck
Well you have set yourself up again to quit, well done. A lot of us here have attempted several times before too, so you are not alone there.
As you said, it is almost impossible to smoke in many places so it is a good time to give up. Keep posting here and let us know how you are going as we are all here to help.
