Scary Decision

I have smoked a pack of 30s a day for the last 25 years and tomorow I have an appointment to see the doctor to get some champix I figure it should work well for me having no luck with patches in the past but having tried champix years ago, I recall I could have quit then but wasnt really commited or ready yet. Also considering champix works on the same principle as some other drugs I have had problems with in the past and quit with sucess, I hope that all will go well. My main reasons for quitting are my car recently broke down and I can cut down the time it will take for me to save for a new one by 2 years also half the time im out of breath after a good brisk walk and I cant even enjoy running with my dog :*( and just feel worn out and agitated all the time, just cant relax.... Anybody else in a similar boat to me please do share your comments or suggestions.

i quit using champix. i only took it for a little over three weeks, as i was forgetting to take it and was using my elation over the time i had not smoked to get me through. i am now 221 days smoke free and i don't know how i afforded such a gross and expensive habit, i don't think i could afford to go back to smoking now even if i wanted to (not that i do). the biggest thing that i have noticed is that i think smokers stink, and i'm ashamed that i use to smell like that. Good luck with your quit journey!!!

hi squeakyz i gave up smoking nov 2011 after having a heart attack. looking back know i had some signs it was coming but i didnt pick up on it. for a start i just felt crap waking up in the morning , also sometimes relaxing watching tv i would be short of breath. i gave it up cold turkey and tell you what it was the hardest thing i have ever done. but i am ove rit now and would never go back there. so my advice listen to what your body is telling you.
