Giving it another go

I'm on day 3 of Champix. I hadn't heard of Champix until 3 days ago and hadn't really planned (another) quit attempt right now.
I had some time on my hands as my work was closed over the festive season and took the opportunity to visit a medical centre about a suspected bcc on my nose. I don't have a regular GP and I was lucky to see a young registrar who was remarkably bulk billing patients (unusual for this medical centre). This fellow was a bit chattier than the GPs I'd seen before and engaged me in a conversation about quittng smoking. I've been trying NRT on and off for over 10 years without any enduring sucess. The GP recommended Champix which I was surprised I hadn't heard of before. Needless to say I jumped at it!
I've enlisted the support of my close friends and sister and asked them to let me know if they observe any changes in my mood or behaviour.
I'm day 3 now and I've set day 10 as my quit day. I'm still smoking 20 a day. No side effects to report.
Simultaneously I've started a 'Light & Easy' diet (today). The prospect of reduced cooking, shopping and washing up is bound to improve a mood dip from nicotine withdrawl.
I'm back at work on Monday and then 'D'-day is next Saturday which is good timing! Here's hoping!
