Lets make quitting the new cool! =)

Firstly, congratulations to everyone on here! You all rock and reading your stories are encouraging.
My desire to quit again (definitely not my first attempt) came the other day when I went grocery shopping. On a whim I decided to purchase a packet of patches instead of the usual packet of cigarettes. Ive had a couple of attempts this year and to be honest I really didnt have my heart in it although I really wanted to quit I kept making excuses. This time is totally different. Im handling it all pretty well. I dont really have any cravings (thankyou patches!) I dont even really think about it. I find its when I do something I turn to go have a smoke like the old me would and realise I dont smoke anymore! Silly me! lol I dont even crave it after the realisation I just carry on with my day.
Ive got my daughter to write down why she wants me to quit so I can read it often to keep me motivated (thanks to the idea which I read on here) Its on my fridge so I view it often.
She is just one reason I want to stay quit! To list them all would take a long time.
We all have so many reasons to quit(and stay that way), and we CAN all do it!
Thankyou to everyone who has already shared their stories. Whether it be their success or their struggles, every word counts.
To anyone who has come on here to have a bit of a read because they want to quit and are a little scared, or you have a quit date in the future, you CAN do it too! With all of the support on here and your own strength you will do it. Just believe in yourself and dont let anything or anyone stand in your way!
On day three and counting... feeling better already!

Well done EmKa82, and well said.
We are all travelling this road together, it's the same road for all of us, same days are easy and others are just soo unbelievably hard.
This site is such a great resource, doesnt matter how your travelling good or bad, jump in this site, troll through and yeap you'll find some-one's story you can relate to.
Good luck to you and all of us on this site...
For many of us this is not our first attempt to quit, but we learn from previous attempts- and that gives us knowledge and power to succeed... xoxoxox

you sound exactly like me..i just decided i would try again an this time it has been very easy..my kids were the ones who wrote the letters and i carry them all in my wallet..i have a day out tomorro at the pub and i plan on reading the letters should i even be tempted..good going by you, your doing fantastic

Thank you both! We definitely do learn from previous attempts. Im continuously expecting a hard day but so far have escaped it! I know its only early days but each one that goes by I feel like Im getting stronger. Im sure we all experience this along the way. This time Ive really challenged myself though... my partner smokes! And it really isnt bothering me at all. Eventually he will quit too (after all, it is going to be the new cool LOL) hes going to be the only one left in the family that smokes so Im pretty sure he will follow me in the not too distant future.
Keep up the good work MargR and goodluck for tomorrow kazzabella! Face that challenge head on!Just think of how thrilling itll be when you get home knowing you didnt give in :)
