Day one on champix
Okay so today I start my journey towards quitting the evil death sticks that have controlled me for more than 15 years. I have commenced my first champix tablet which I took this morning and although I am still smoking I have set my quit date to the 5th of January or earlier if the medication kicks in and my body doesn't want to smoke. I have a five year old son and just met the love of my life just under a year ago. There has never been more in my life to live for and I want to quit this habit for good! My determination is there but I am worried about side effects and my overwhelming need to care for my family which I do not want my ability to do so affected. I have no excuses anymore and I won't hide behind them either. I wish I understood better as to why this grasp of nicotine is so strong on me that I could risk my blessed life for a disgusting, expensive and deadly habit however I cannot explain it! Gees I hope I have the strength to do this!,,
Well done. I have been on champix for six weeks and am nearly finished the full course. I have smoked for 37 years and have now gone nearly six weeks . This is my first serios attempt and I am confident i'm over smoking.
Go you good thing! I was planning on jan1 but found my champix was 2 years out of date!! I've been planning this for a while!!Might have to get another script.

Good luck Louise. You will find the strength in your family, just as I hope I will/have. We will be travelling the same path at around the same time... Fingers crossed we can both do it.
