Hi all. Gave up a week ago as was on holidays with my boyfriend who doesn't smoke. Recently my mum (who smokes) moved in with myself and my daughter so when I got home yesterday there was smokes on counter. Took me a couple of hours but caved and had one. Coughed and wheezed for an hour after it. Haven't had one since but disappointed cause now I'm back to day one smoke free :( still want one but craving isnt too bad so far :)

Of course you want one Skye, that is perfectly normal. Like most of us on here we all know what you are going through. This is an addiction that you have to break and it certainly is not easy. We all know that smoking is bad, but it still took me 20 plus years to do something about it. I quit using champix which helped me alot and I am now 8 months smoke free and feeling fantastic. I will never go back!! I promise you it does get easier, but it will take time and you need to keep using your willpower as the more you use it the stronger it gets. You will find that once you get through the first few weeks, it won't matter how tempted you get you won't have that smoke as you will not want to start at day 1 all over again and this is what will keep you going. Use this website as much as you can for support. Some great people on here who will give you good positive advice and help you out when you think your going to fall. Others will not be so supportive, but just choose to ignore there comments. Best of luck on your journey and keep us posted on how your going:)

hi i know how you feel, i havent had a smoke now for 2 days, cravings are worst at night, and i too slipped up and had to start again it was the dissappiontment (in my self) that has got me throught the last 2 days,

maybe that can be your motivation too,

be strong you can do it,

we can all do it

Ya its very normal for you to want a smoke, some people find it easy not to smoke and others have a much harder time. Has all to do with the mind etc etc. Don't worry every time u say no ur mind will become stronger. Go get some big red gum i am using it and when ever u feel like a smoke have that gum and takes my mind right of it.

Oh and Dr Feelgood, I don't think judging others as to why they would want a ciggy is the right way to go about it. If you cant be supportive and say something worth while to make sky's journey easier etc then I would suggest you just dont say or type anything.

Thanks everyone. I haven't touched a smoke since even though mums sits on the counter!! Feeling great and not feeling any cravings at all but waking up every hour after 2am grrr. Is this part of giving up? Has anyone gone through this if so what helped?
