I can do this....

Tomorrow is my quit day. Ive had my last smoke and laying in bed its already driving me mad wondering what I will do as soon as I wake up! I'm only in my mid 20's, have been smoking for almost 10 years. My asthma is that bad, I go through roughly a puffa a week. I've "quit" on many attempts but always had some sort of excuse to start again. This time, I am doing it cold turkey, and determined not to give into that evil craving! The longest I have quit is 3 months with champix, the shortest being probably an hour, before ducking to the servo cause I was going mad! I have two gorgeous kids who I want to see grow up and who rely on me being around for as long as I can. I don't know why or what I am typing here.....I just want to do it this time, for good!! Not tell myself that one here and there is ok (I cannot do that, one a day=30 a day for me) I have 2 choices, be a non smoker or be a heavy smoker. I've tried to cut down so many times with no sucess! Anyway....off for some sleep and hopefully I will wake up with a positive attitude and plenty of willpower!!

Thanks. Day was hasn't been too bad, I got through it ok till now. Kids and dinner and baths aghh....would love to be sitting outside having a smoke. Instead I've came in my room and having 5 mins of deep breaths lol. Tomorrow at work is going to be a challenge though

Just rememeber why you want to give up, you can do it :) I quit for 8 days and then went to the pub and got drunk and smoked a whole packet, it's not worth it and you just feel so dissapointed in your self, If you put your mind to it you can do anything and this site really helps me :)

You're not giving anything up, you're gaining in every way, congratulate yourself everyday it will get easier, a lot easier! What's the alternatives? There isn't any!

You can do it! I have 2 young kids and they too are part of the reason I gave up. Please dont wait as long as I did (27 years) to do it. I am struggling too however, and this is only my second day without the cigs. Good luck.
