I am so mad with myself!!!

I thought I was doing really good, especially since I haven't started the patches yet. A friend I havn't spoken too for so long rang....I didn't even think; I picked up my smokes while I was on the phone for over an hour and I am so MAD with myself!! I didn't even enjoy it!!
I have cut back again because I start my patches on Friday. I so much want to stop this filthy habit but I guess I have to be aware of my triggers!

A huge contributor to successfully giving up is self awareness. If you self analyse when you get a craving and rationally think it through it's so much easier to overcome.
You're right guys. It's also important not to beat yourself up. Negative self talk won't help. I told myself that "I am so happy to be a non smoker" the day I quit - which was in the middle of Rome at Christmas time where they ALL smoke. And you know what - it worked! Go for it Gayle - you CAN do it.

Andy hey Gayld, you haven't even quit yet. It's Friday right? Just make sure that on Thursday night you throw all your smokes, lighters, matches out. Like in a public bin that you won't be tempted to scratch through in the middle of the night. You don't need the tempatation close by and accessible dude. Make it hard for the little voice - don't make yourself a soft target for it.

Thanks MickeyJ, I can just picture myself ratting through the bin too!! I'm going to give it all I've got!
